It was founded in 2011 by Mark Zuckerberg, and was acquired by Facebook in 2016 for $1.5 billion.
The app now features over 300 million users, and is available on Android and iOS.3. WhatsApp — The most popular social network in the World, WhatsApp is owned by Facebook and offers a wide range of services.
The service has a huge user base in Asia, and boasts over 1 billion monthly users.
WhatsApp is available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Indonesian languages.4. Snapchat — Snapchat is a popular app for teens in the United States and has been gaining popularity with teenagers worldwide.
Snapchat has more than 4 million active users in the U.S. It was launched in 2017 by Evan Spiegel, who now heads Snapchat.
Snapchat was founded by Sean Parker and Bobby Murphy, and the two co-founded the company with two other partners.
The company has over 100 million active members and nearly 50 million monthly unique users in 30 countries.5.
Tumblr — Tumblr has grown to become one of Canada’s most successful social media properties.
The site launched in 2012 as a social news and community website, but has since evolved into an advertising platform.

Viber — Viber has become one the fastest growing companies in North America and it now has more customers in the Asia-Pacific region than any other online platform.
Vibes service is now available on smartphones, tablets and laptops.
Vibrant, the social network with more followers than Facebook has more followers on Twitter than Twitter itself.8. LinkedIn — LinkedIn is Canada’s largest online platform, offering more than 1 billion members.
It is owned and operated by Facebook, and it is currently one of North America’s most popular sites for finding and connecting with other people online.
LinkedIn has over 1.6 billion members, and its service is available across platforms including desktop, mobile, and tablet.9. Google+ — Google+ is Canada ‘s largest social networking company, and according to Google it now boasts over 50 million members.
Google+, which has over 4 billion active members, was launched by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 2010.
It has grown exponentially in the last year and now has over 200 million members, with over 1 million in Canada alone.10.
